10 Best GH Hip-Hop Songs in 2012

Hop hop artist all out Ghana send time putting lyrics and beat together but not all their music was accepted by the music lovers in Ghana but their are some other song which was accepted in the Country here are the top ten ten hip hop songs in the year 2012 So Tuff (Cabum ft. Edem) – A banger by the man known as the second coming of Lord Kenya and the Volta Regime General, this peewezel produced song has a timbaland style beat that is guaranteed to get any party jumping plus they matched it with some pretty dope visuals.

Well Well (Rumor ft. Stone) – The kid named Rumor delivered a classic Hip-hop love song to a sweet someone (we hope it’s the girl in the video) with help from Oseikrom’s own Flowking Stone. When you want to tell that special lady that you dey love am well well, you finally have a dope song to play for her too.

Pizza & Burger (Jayso & Sarkodie) – one of the most anticipated songs from one of the most anticipated album’s this year finally dropped and didn’t disappoint. Truth is you may have expected something better but at the end of the day, if you put all expectations and hype aside, you can’t say this wasn’t a dope song.

Idea (Bra Kevin) – If you missed when this record dropped then it’s probably because BK had gone into hiding for so long that you probably didn’t expect to hear from him anytime soon. For those of us that were patient enough to get this when it dropped, we know we didn’t waste our time. Personally, it’s one of my favorite songs this year and I can only hope he drops some dope visuals for it soon.

Me Do Me Ghana (Bradez ft. D-Black) – The Kumasi Hiplife duo decided to switch it up a bit with help from the Hip-Hop poster boy D-Black and the immortal vocals of our first president Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The results was this beauty of a record that trilled us and put some sense of patriotism into even the most hard-hearted of us, and I don’t really care what you say about this song because “me de3 me do me Ghana”.

Breathe (J town, Scientific, C Real, Stargo, EL) – We were surprised by the incredibly dope visuals to this record which was shot atop a building but what blew our mind the most was the number of dope lyricist on the track. Im sure Hip-hop heads all over the nation are still debating on who killed this song and my guess is, EL is getting the most votes.

Winning/Lie Ben (Ko-Jo Cue) – Twitter (and other social media) came to a standstill when this single dropped, and all timelines were flooded with the download link. Unlike other floods however, this song didn’t get around because of over-hype, it simply rode on the fact that it was a dope record. It would have done even better if it was accompanied by dope visuals but I guess it’s never too late for a good video.

Feed off Your Envy (Ian Jazzi ft. EL) – When this song opens with EL’s lyrics and smooth vocals, you don’t need to be told (sorry D. Cryme) that it was an instant classic. Jazzi’s laid back flow compliments the infectious hook as the two rappers take inspiration from their haters to create a banger. At this rate, you and I can only hope they get more haters.

Maka a Maka (M.anifest) – when the rapper known by most for waxing political with conscious Hip-hop artists like Brother Ali dropped the visuals to this banger, most of us knew he had a winner on his hands. Fast forward into the year and the video has been nominated for a Channel O Video Music Awards (somewhere in Madina I bet Selasie screamed)

Gimme Pinch (Fokn Bois) – If it would be fair then every single song on ‘Fokn wit ewe’ would have made it on this list. Since we can’t be that biased, we have decided to put this standout song from the gospel/rap/porn album on this list. We thank the lord someone had the sense to give these two pinch before they took their dreams too far.
